20th October, 1945.
Dear Ride,
I want to write to you about Dr. Yang Tsuni's case sho as you know has given us extremely loyal and gooû service during the war. He is now seekin, un appointment in Hongkong University and I should like to ask you to ủo what you can to help him. He is, firstly, a geologist graduated at Chine Hwa and Yale Universities. He held the chair of geology
at Chung Shan University until 1941 when he joined the British Military Mission on war service. He could, therefor: undertake geological or engineering geology or say geologicui survey work that may be required locally but even more than that feel he would be on invaluable link in promoting better relations between the Kwangtung University and Provincial Authorities and Hongkong • He is a Cantonese (Bwatow) but his background is whoisy Chinese. He has, however, a gift of getting ca with both sides. He is now on his way down to Hongkong and I am asking him to call on you when he arrives. on John Keswick's advice I have also written to Mr. Gent of the Colonial 02/ice and I am sending a copy of my letter to you to the Ambas¤&01.
Colonel L. T. ride, C.V.s.
Civil Affairs,
llongkong
Yours sincerely,
